The fundamental trait that is needed for any successful politician is he ability to learn from mishaps and then devise winning strategies. This is what Chandrababu did after the historic defeat in the 2019 election. He understood that he was caught up with administration for five years and couldn’t make time for the cadre. He rectified this mistake and worked hand in hand with the cadre to win the 2024 election.
But in the case of Jagan Mohan Reddy, he still appears to be in denial of the humiliating electoral numbers YCP posted in this year’s election. After securing 11 out of the total 175 MLA seats, Jagan still appears to be of the intention that the voters got tricked by the promises made by Chandrababu.
In a press meet yesterday, Jagan said “40% of the vote bank is with us. Only 10% voted for Chandrababu for his promises. YCP government did no wrong, we only did good to the people. Chandrababu must look to continue the good work”.
Even after securing less than 10% of the seats in the assembly, Jagan is still of the opinion that he did no wrong and the voters just got tricked. The numbers this year clearly suggest that the voters didn’t get tricked and they were outrightly clear with their mandate. An analyst opined that the longer Jagan stays in denial, more damage YCP will have to take as Jagan’s strategizing ad judgment appear to be blurred at the moment.
