Back in 2021, a fierce-looking Pawan Kalyan threw a stern challenge to Kakinada MLA Dwarampudi Chandrasekhar Reddy, vowing to end the YCP MLA’s criminal empire. In tune with this statement, affirmative action began against Dwarampudi immediately after the TDP+ government came to power.
The first significant blow to Dwarampudi was delivered with the demolition of his close associate’s property in Kakinada, followed by an investigative attack on the ex-MLA’s ration rice mafia.
Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar is coming down heavily on the rice mafia, recently seizing over 5,000 metric tonnes of rice that was being illicitly smuggled from Kakinada port to African countries through the Dwarampudi syndicate.
After this substantial finding, Nadendla announced that the Andhra Pradesh CID would be investigating the smuggling operation soon. The same CID that was used to trouble Chandrababu in the previous tenure is now set to come knocking on YCP leaders’ doors, with Chandrasekhar Reddy first in line.
Not just that, the new MLA from Kakinada, Kondababu, has presented proof of Dwarampudi looting Rs 73 crore from the Kakinada port. Nearly 25 acres of land that was illegally occupied by Dwarampudi’s men have also been reclaimed by the new government.
The Environment Control Board has served notices on the emissions from the prawn factories owned by Dwarampudi and his family. Further investigations are bound to be commissioned soon.
Considering all the legalities and hassles surrounding Dwarampudi, it could be understood that Janasena, in particular, has thrown a net into deep illegal waters and the biggest fish of the lot, Dwarampudi Chandrasekhar Reddy, is caught.
