YS Jagan is set to embark on a three day visit to Rayalaseema again starting from this Saturday. This is his second tour to his home turf in two weeks. After taking oath as MLA last month, Jagan skipped assembly sessions and immediately visited Pulivendula to meet and greet his supporters and local leaders there. After spending three days there, he reached his residence in Bengaluru. The ruling party criticised that he intentionally went to Pulivendula only to not attend the assembly sessions and avoid embarrassment in the house.
He landed in Vijayawada a couple of days ago. Once again, the former Chief Minister and YSRCP president will visit Pulivendula during his three day visit. He will go to Idupulapaya on July 8th on the eve of his father YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s birth anniversary. Jagan is expected to take part in various programs in his constituency and also meet his followers and leaders of Rayalaseema in the next three days.
Surprisingly, Jagan seems to be giving much priority to his constituency after losing in the elections. It seems like he wants to stay connected with his constituency and ensure that the local leaders don’t switch allegiance in the coming days as the party suffered a big setback in all Rayalaseema districts.
In the last five years when he was the Chief Minister of the state, Jagan used to visit Pulivendula only for offering floral tributes on Rajasekhar Reddy’s birth and death anniversaries. He hardly took part in any government related activities there and did very little development there.
After facing an embarrassing defeat in the recent elections, Jagan hasn’t made much public appearances regarding any issues relating to the state. Instead, he called on his party leader and former MLA of Macherla Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy who was accused in EVM damage case. The way he defended Pinnelli’s poll violence triggered huge backlash from all quarters.
Jagan will take a flight from Gannavaram airport today morning and reach his residence in Pulivendula by afternoon. He will spend three days and will return on 9th.
