After a meeting held at Prajabhavan on Saturday night, the Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh (AP) and Telangana announced joint efforts to resolve longstanding issues between the two states.
Following this, Telangana’s Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka and AP’s Minister Anagani Sathyaprasad addressed the media together, emphasizing their commitment to peaceful dialogue in addressing decade-long unresolved issues.
Vikramarka highlighted the stagnation of issues over the past decade and criticized the previous government’s inaction. He expressed optimism about the first meeting under the new leadership, announcing the formation of two committees: one comprising ministers and another of senior officials from both states.
These committees aim to find comprehensive solutions, with provisions for further meetings between Chief Ministers if necessary.
Similarly, Anagani said that within two weeks, ministerial committees would be established to address issues. He emphasized thorough examination of the Partition Act by senior officials from both states to facilitate decisions.
Both ministers also agreed on jointly lobbying for financial benefits from the Centre and discussed collaborative efforts to combat drug trafficking.
Overall, the joint press conference underscored a proactive approach by AP and Telangana in resolving historical issues through structured dialogue and collaborative governance.
