Thanks to the alliance with Telugu Desam and Janasena, BJP has regained lost sheen in Andhra Pradesh. After being confined to 0 MLA and 0 MP seats in 2019, the saffron outfit won 6 MLAs and 3 MPs this year. It is evident that the alliance with TDP saved the day for BJP. Not just in AP, the alliance with TDP helped BJP at the center as well, given that NDA(thanks to TDP) secured 21 MP seats in AP.
But there is a counter-argument on this matter now as CPI Narayana faulted Chandrababu for bringing back the dangerous BJP to AP.
The CPI veteran noted that BJP is firing from the shoulders of Chandrababu and Nitish Kumar(Bihar) by thinking they won these states on their own. But in reality, it is Chandrababu and Nitish who are saving BJP at the center.
About potential alliance with TDP, Narayana said “The left parties aren’t prepared for this scenario. Chandrababu brought back the dangerous BJP to Andhra Pradesh for the second time. BJP is a problematic outfit and will never let its allies live in peace”.
It is evident that the left camps are not pleased with Chandrababu leading the charge for BJP not just in AP but also at center as he won 161/175 MLA seats here, and then gave 21 MP seats to NDA at the center which is the margin of win and loss for NDA in the parliament. The question here is if BJP would rightly accredit Naidu for his efforts and support his vision for AP development, keeping in mind the warrior spirit he showed to sweep AP through the alliance.
