Telangana Chief Minister and Congress leader Revanth Reddy attended the 75th birth anniversary celebrations of YS Rajasekhar Reddy held in Mangalagiri this evening under the auspices of PCC president YS Sharmila. During his speech, Revanth made shocking comments on Andhra Pradesh politics, sparking a significant debate.
Revanth indirectly addressed ongoing rumors that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will soon resign as Pulivendula MLA to contest as Kadapa MP. He mentioned media speculation about an imminent by-election for the Kadapa parliamentary seat, stating his intention to aggressively campaign throughout the district if these rumors prove true. He pledged to restore the Congress party’s prominence in Kadapa if a by-election occurs.
Revanth endorsed Sharmila as the true successor to YS Rajasekhar Reddy and predicted her ascent to the Chief Minister’s seat in the 2029 elections, marking her 20th year in politics. He voiced support for Rahul Gandhi’s aspirations to become the Prime Minister in the next elections, citing YSR’s dream to see him in that role.
Revanth assured full support to Sharmila and the Congress party cadre in Andhra Pradesh. He criticized the three main parties in Andhra Pradesh, equating the BJP acronym to “Babu, Jagan, and Pawan,” and claimed there is no effective opposition in the state, asserting that all these leaders support Narendra Modi at the center.
Revanth’s assertive speech is currently going viral. This marks his first public address in Andhra Pradesh since assuming office as the CM of Telangana.
