Usually, when opponents target a politician with an allegation, his party members come forward and support him irrespective of whatever may be the issue. Whenever YSRCP launched a malafide campaign against any TDP leader in the last five years, many others used to extend moral support to that leader by counterattacking the allegations.
Contrary to this, YSRCP leaders have been maintaining a stoic silence on the recent controversy surrounding Vijay Sai Reddy. It is a known fact that Sai Reddy is a Rajyasabha MP and also the national general secretary of YSRCP. He is regarded as a close aide to Jagan Mohan Reddy. Yet, there is no response from any notable leader of the party. Quite surprisingly, even Jagan also decided to stay away from reacting on the issue.
On Monday, Vijay Sai Reddy addressed a press meet following the shocking allegations made by assistant endowment commissioner Kalingiri Shanthi’s husband Madan Mohan Manipati. He was seething in anger during the media interaction against several news channels for running baseless stories which are aimed to tarnish his image.
Interestingly, none of the YSRCP leaders reacted on this issue so far. This has come as a big surprise to everyone because Sai Reddy is a significant leader in the party who called shots when Jagan was the CM of the state.
During his press meet, Sai Reddy said no one involved in this episode will be spared even they belong to his own party. This statement has raised suspicion whether any bigwig relating to YSRCP is behind the entire controversy. Adding to this doubt is the silence of YSRCP high command on the issue.
Moreover, he announced that he will soon start a media house to attack his opponents. So, is he indirectly referring that there is no support to him from Jagan’s Sakshi media and other leaders ? Only time will say why there is no sympathy for Vijay Sai Reddy even within his party members.
