CM Chandrababu Naidu chaired a cabinet meeting yesterday to discuss the current condition of Andhra Pradesh (AP) and made an interesting remark about the lingering impact of the Jagan government.
Babu sarcastically referred to Jagan’s last five years in office as a “J” ghost, suggesting that its effects are still haunting the state. He noted that companies are still hesitant due to the anti-investment policies pursued previously, such as reverse tendering and rejection of land pooling initiatives.
Regarding the much-debated sand policy, Babu affirmed that the free sand policy in AP will continue as long as the TDP is in power. He hinted at possible improvements to make the scheme more accessible to the public, emphasizing that there will be no imposition of a “J tax” and that the government will not profit from sand.
In an interesting move, Babu announced that MLAs and MPs should participate in the pension distribution program again on August 1st. Following his own participation on July 1st, he has instructed his colleagues to join in the program monthly to maintain public engagement.
