The 2024 election campaign is one of the most one-sided electoral battles in the history of India. But the situation leading to the elections were very tense with the TDP and YCP candidates fighting neck to neck till the last minute. There were many heated exchanges as well, this year.
But in what could be considered a welcome change in this heated period, a TDP MLA has gone to the house of his opposing YCP MLA candidate.
This incident happened in Madakasira recently when TDP’s winning MLA MS Raju went to the house of Eera Lakkappa who contested on YCP ticket and lost. The interaction was more of a formal one and the two leaders appeared to be sharing a friendly rapport.
Both Lakkappa and Raju come from humble backgrounds and despite the heated battle during the election, both of them retained a sporty spirit and appeared to share mutual respect after the election. They reportedly discussed the action plan to develop the constituency as the MLA asked for inputs of the YCP candidate.
Incidentally, TDP’s Raju won the closely fought Madakasira constituency by a slender margin of 350 votes against Lakkappa.
