Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh welcomed IT firms to relocate their businesses to AP after the National Association of Software and Service Companies (Nasscom) expressed disappointment and a deep concern over Karnataka’s bill aiming to reserve ‘Jobs for locals in the private sector’.
Lokesh posted on X, that he understands their disappointment over the decision and assured them of best-in-class facilities if they would move their businesses to AP. He welcomed the IT companies after Nasscom demanded the Karnataka bill to be scrapped as it would force businesses to relocate. Lokesh replied this to the tweet by Nasscom expressing the concern over Karnataka State Employment of Local Industries Factories Establishment Act Bill, 2024
‘We will offer you best-in-class facilities, uninterrupted power, infrastructure, and the most suitable skilled talent for your IT enterprise with no restrictions from the Government’, wrote Nara Lokesh.
The Karnataka government approved a bill proposing 100% reservation for Kannadigas, or local residents, in C and D-grade positions within private industries. CM Siddaramaiah announced this decision through a social media post. However, he removed the announcement after receiving strong opposition from IT firms.
