AP CM YS Jagan has launched yet another populist scheme in the state.Titled as ‘YSR Bheema’, the new scheme is aimed to provide insurance to people who are the main bread-earners of a family. It covers both natural death, accidental death and permanent disability. People between 18 to 70 years of age and who support their respective family are eligible for this scheme.
As per the YSR Bheema scheme, beneficiaries between the ages of 18 to 50 years will get Rs 2 lakh insurance compensation in case of natural death, and Rs 5 lakh to the nominees in case of accidental death or complete disability. And beneficiaries between the ages of 51 and 70 are entitled for compensation of Rs 3 lakh to the nominee in case of accidental death or permanent disability. In case of partial or permanent disability, beneficiaries between the ages of 18 to 70 will get a compensation of Rs 1.50 lakh.
However, people who have white-ration cards are only eligible to avail the benefit. It is estimated that 1.41 crore white-card holders are going to benefit from the scheme. The new scheme comes into force from today. YSR Bheema is going to cost Rs 583.50 crore per year. Already, CM Jagan has introduced a host of populist schemes to the poor in the state. YSR Raithu Bharosa, Amma Vodi, YSR Jalayagnam, YSR Asaara, YSR Cheyuta, Housing for poor, Pensions, Alcohol ban and Fee reimbursement schemes are being delivered under Navaratnalu. YSR Bheema is going to join this legion.
