Politicizing Covid-19 Vaccine: Tamil Nadu Follows Bihar

Published by

Like the US President Donald Trump, even Indian politicians are exploiting the vaccine on Covid-19. Yesterday Union Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced that if BJP and its allies are voted to power, the entire Bihar state would get the Covid-19 vaccine for free.

This has shocked many and it was a strange election promise that we never heard off. Seems like many political parties are taking inspiration from this and here comes another similar announcement. Tamil Nadu is the state which is going for elections next year and the ruling All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) is doing everything to retain power.

Generally Tamil Nadu people vote alternatively but this time, AIADMK is going to the polls without Jayalalithaa and so they are doing everything. Current CM Palaniswamy has announced that if voted to power, his government will provide free Covid-19 to all the people.

Currently the vaccine is still in trials stages and there are reports that it might be out by December. If this deadline is missed, another anticipation time is February 2021. So which is the next party to announce a free vaccine? Let’s hear it from the political parties.
