AP Government imposing heavy fines and penalties for traffic violations is criticized big by the opposition party TDP and many others on Social media. Many kept asking how the government is launching the ‘fine’ parade but not bothered about repairing the damaged roads.
YCP Minister Perni Nani decided to address the comments and criticism from them during his recent pressmeet. Nani questioned the detractors on how their logic of fixing the roads is linked to the traffic violation penalties.
Nani quipped about the satires from them asking if the roads are not good, how can anybody just violate the rules, and drive as per their wish and will. He also said these satires are good to invoke laughs on comedy shows on TV, but not in reality.
The YCP leader admitted that the roads have gone bad to worse due to heavy rains, which is nothing new and is totally inevitable due to the heavy pouring of rains. He said Chandrababu’s govt is fortunate about the roads being left with lesser damage due to the lack of rains.
The TDP’s criticism of Jagan’s government in reference to Mahesh Babu’s Bharat Ane Nenu is also brought up by Nani. He questioned the people commenting on the Jagan government’s traffic fines with jokes like ‘Jagan must have watched Bharat Ane Nenu’ many times and that inspired him with the traffic penalties idea. Nani asked how the same people who clapped for the scenes of Mahesh Babu in the movie Bharat Ane Nenu, start denouncing YS Jagan for his move.
The AP Govt issued orders increasing the penalties for various traffic rule violations, in accordance with the MV amendment act of 2019 enacted by the Indian Government. As per the new orders, underage driving attracts a fine of Rs 5000, dangerous driving, and movie phone usage during driving attracts Rs 1500 for the first offense and Rs 10,000 for the subsequent offenses. For racing and trials of speed, the fine is now Rs 5000 for the first offense and Rs 10,000 for subsequent offenses.
The Minister also said YS Jagan’s government approved 2500 crore rupees for the repairing of roads and is calling for tenders to start the work right after the rainy season end.
