Heavy security was deployed at the Mangalagiri police station when the then YCP government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy reached the place for interrogation in connection with the YCP leaders attack on TDP headquarters at Mangalagiri.
YCP leaders Devineni Avinash, Nandigam Suresh, Lella Appireddy, Jogi Ramesh and others are facing charges in connection with the case. All of them had appeared for the investigation process.
Sajjala’s name is also included in the case. He is the 120th accused and facing charges of involvement in the attack on the TDP office headquarters.
A lookout notice was also issued in connection with the same case. He appeared for the interrogation before Mangalagiri DSP Muralikrishna and Mangalagiri Rural CI Srinivasa Rao.
Former APP Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy and MLC Lella Appireddy accompanied Sajjala. Ponnavolu requested that he should be allowed to accompany Sajjala before the investigating officer but after the police refused to send him in, he intimidated and threatened them, making some gestures.
He entered into an argument with them and asked them as to why would they not allow him to enter the office. To this, the police said he would be allowed only if they got permission from the court.
Finally, with the police expressing their inability to allow him inside, Ponnavolu remained outside.
The AP police had already investigated a majority of the case. Now, the CID sleuths are helping the police probe into the case.
