Lokesh US Tour – Not So Perfect Timing?

Published by

Minister Nara Lokesh would embark on US tour on Friday, to invite investments to Andhra Pradesh.

His itinerary for the next 10 days has been planned and would be very busy meeting representatives of several reputed companies like Tesla, Google and Meta, to attract businesses.

He had already begun attempts to bring in several companies to the state. Recently, he held discussion with Tata Group asking them to set up TCS campus in Vizag.

Lokesh also spoke to Tamil Nadu-based Shiv Nadar’s company and Japan ambassadors, in connection with investments.

However, the timing of his US business tour seems not so perfect, given the upcoming US Presidential elections scheduled next month. In view of the elections, all eyes, including those of the investors, are focused on the poll results. Several potential investors are still not able to decide whether to remain in the US or go abroad. They are keenly observing the pulse of the people and trying to take right decisions.

If chances for the victory of Republican candidate and former President Donald Trump are high, many of them would remain in America. There is speculation that the inflation would also reduce if Trump assumes charge.

In such a situation, not many investors are keen on setting shop in foreign shores. In the recent times, elected representatives of some countries were given cold shoulder by the US businessmen, when they approached them seeking investments.

Now, it has to be seen how far will Lokesh be able to convince the corporate giants and MNCs in putting their money at stake in Andhra Pradesh.
