TDP Office Attack – ‘They Planned To Kill Pattabhi’

After the NDA government led by Chief Minister and TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu handed over the case relating to the attack on the party central office in Mangalagiri in 2021 to the state CID, more shocking facts have been coming out during the interrogation.

Already YSR Congress party leaders like Sajjala Rama Krishna Reddy, Appireddy, Raghuram, Nandigam Suresh, Devineni Avinash are under the scanner for orchestrating the attack. Recently, YSRCP student leader Panuganti Chaitanya, who is one of the key accused in the case, has surrendered before the police.

During the interrogation by the CID, Chaitanya confessed that nearly 200 supporters of YSRCP barged into the TDP central office and tried to kill TDP spokesperson Komareddy Pattabhi Ram for his sharp and critical comments on the then Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. He reportedly admitted that the mob carried iron rods and sticks and attacked several people including some policemen who came there.

Going by his version reported in the telugu media, Chaitanya and some of his followers received a phone call from YSRCP leader Uma Maheswara Reddy to come to their party office in Tadepalli. By the time they went to the office, leaders like Sajjala, Devineni and Nandigam were present there. After getting clear cut instructions from the meeting with these leaders, the gang ransacked the TDP office and injured many of its supporters. They even decided to end Pattabhi’s life in this attack because of his harsh comments on Jagan, reported in a leading Telugu newspaper.

Though a case was registered on this brutal assault at that time, there was no firm action until the NDA government came to power. Only after Naidu took charge as CM, the police arrested several leaders and supporters of YSRCP. A few days ago, it was handed over to CID.

With the surrender of Chaitanya and his confession statements, it appears like the masterminds behind this attack may face serious trouble.
