144 Section In Hyderabad: Why?

Telangana’s political landscape is in a volatile condition. On one hand, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said there will be multiple arrests in the next few days, and coincidentally, there was a police ride at the farmhouse that belongs to KTR’s brother-in-law.

With so much political action going around in the state, an interesting and perhaps unexpected development has taken place. DGP CV Anand has announced the enforcement of 144 section in Hyderabad city starting from the 27th of October. This will be in effect till the 27th of November for a period of one month and a gathering of more than 5 people is prohibited in the city premises starting from last night.

The DGP announced that this is a precautionary measure to curb the possibility of politically triggered riots and mishaps in the city. He made it very clear that there shall be no dharnas or protests in Hyderabad for the next month.

This major decision from the Hyderabad Police is leading to several theories on social media as people are speculating there might be a few high profile arrests soon and the imposition of 144 section is to maintain law and order when that happens.
