In the latest update, the office of the Commissioner of Police in Visakhapatnam City issued new instructions regarding the restaurants and eateries timings.
The memo declares that the Government of Andhra Pradesh had issued guidelines to permit hotels, restaurants, and eateries except Bars & Restaurants to be kept open till midnight in the state of Andhra Pradesh under Sections 7(2) and 15(2) of the Andhra Pradesh Shops and Establishments Act 1988.
The hotels, restaurants, and food zones were allowed only till 10:30 pm and this decision was taken after the COVID-19 pandemic to control the crime rate.
While the businesses and general public are happy with the new GO, the Greater Visakha Citizens’ Forum has expressed concern over the working conditions of the staff.
