Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s son and IT Minister, Nara Lokesh is turning out to be the face of Andhra Pradesh with his impeccable working style and decision making skills. After the NDA government took over the reigns of the state in June this year, Lokesh decided to augment the brand image of Andhra Pradesh by projecting it as a haven for foreign investments in various sectors, especially in IT and innovative start-ups.
In a bid to draw the attention of global investors, Nara Lokesh embarked on a whirlwind tour to USA last week. Initially, there were inhibitions about the timing of Lokesh’s trip as the presidential elections are round the corner in USA. However, the effective manner in which Lokesh is turning his short trip into a big success is likely to silence his critics without any doubt.
What is very surprising to many is how Lokesh has managed to get the appointment of renowned CEOs from several high-profile companies based out in USA. During his ongoing trip, Lokesh fixed meetings with heads and representatives of companies like Tesla, Microsoft, Amazon, Salesforce, Oracle, Clarity, Adobe, General Atomics and PepsiCo. Also lined up on his itinerary are visits to the Google and Microsoft campuses at San Francisco and Redmond.
It is no exaggeration to say that Lokesh succeeded in achieving what many leaders and Chief Ministers of other states in India couldn’t. That is getting appointments from CEOs like Satya Nadella and others. This is possible because of his father and CM Chandrababu Naidu’s image and popularity there besides other reasons.
Also, the Lokesh connections, strong PR team and the support from NRIs living in USA helped Lokesh get access to global investors and top entrepreneurs. Moreover, Lokesh’s impressive academic credentials, flawless oratory skills, and visionary ideas cannot be overlooked as the reasons why he is able to court business leaders in USA.
