For many decades now, Pulivendula has been a den for the YS family. This segment was first moulded by YS Raja Reddy, strengthened by YS Rajasekhar Reddy and now being carried by Jagan Mohan Reddy. However, Jagan’s latest visit to Pulivendula (yesterday) has started to ring the alarm bells loud and clear.
Usually, there will be a huge clout and public turnout when Jagan sets foot in Pulivendula. This is made possible due the following his family has, and also Jagan’s direct rapport with the locals.
However, on Jagan’s yesterday visit to Pulivendula, the turnout has been abysmal. Shockingly enough, it is heard from live attendees that the police personnel and security troops outnumbered the crowd that came to greet Jagan. Apparently, he was greeted by an abnormally small crowd even while going to YSR Ghat.
Strangely, YCP leaders from Guntur and Vizag had to fill in an hand over bouquets to Jagan as a formality while the Pulivendula crowd went missing. Something like this has never happened before.
In reality, Jagan expected to win Pulivendula by 1 lakh votes majority, but ended up winning by just 60K which is lesser than 2019(90K+). As it turns out, the decreased majority, poor turnouts and adverse situations are alarm bells for Jagan locally in his own bastion that his family has been ruling for decades.
