How CBN’s Arrest Changed Brahmani’s Mind

Published by

It has been nearly a decade since Andhra Pradesh IT Minister and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s son, Lokesh, took the plunge into active politics. After facing numerous challenges and hurdles, Lokesh has emerged as a force to be reckoned with in the political landscape. His ongoing trip to the USA, where he is working to make Andhra Pradesh a dream destination for foreign investments, stands as a testament to his credentials.

During his speech at the IT Serve Alliance Synergy Summit 2024 in Las Vegas earlier today, Lokesh made interesting revelations about his political career and how his father, Chandrababu Naidu’s, arrest changed his wife Nara Brahmani’s perception of politics. Lokesh shared that Brahmani had dissuaded him several times from pursuing a political career, citing the innumerable difficulties he would face.

He explained that Chandrababu’s arrest left both of them nervous and anxious. Brahmani felt that politics was of no use given the illegal arrest, especially after Chandrababu had sacrificed so much and done good for the people of the state.

However, the unanimous and widespread support from thousands of IT employees in Hyderabad and Bengaluru, as well as from Telugu NRIs around the globe, through protests and rallies against Chandrababu’s illegal arrest, changed Brahmani’s opinion about politics, Lokesh said. He noted that Brahmani never questioned his involvement in politics after witnessing such a massive wave of support for Naidu.

Lokesh expressed gratitude to the Telugu diaspora worldwide for standing in support of Chandrababu Naidu during his illegal arrest by Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government.
