YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is unusually selective about the range of topics that he likes to speak about. This is the reason why he always addresses the media from a single-dimensional point of view and only delivers what he intends to deliver, without taking any questions from the media. A similar scene was observed today.
Amidst the glaring differences between Jagan and Sharmila, an English journalist questioned Jagan about Sharmila’s demand for him to resign as an MLA if he didn’t want to go to the assembly.
Jagan immediately had a harsh and redundant reaction when Sharmila’s name was brought up.
“There is no need to talk about my sisters here. Their party(Congress) anyway has 1.7% vote share and that is about it. I need not address it further” Jagan said. This was a very evident attempt by Jagan to completely disregard Sharmila by pointing out her Congress party’s vote share.
At a time when Jagan has started a legal battle against Sharmila and Vijayamma, it was always expected that he would speak down on them. But Jagan went out of his way to make Sharmila irrelevant in today’s media briefing as he used Congress’s vote share to make his point against his sister.
