Deputy Speaker RRR Gives Open Invitation To Jagan

The new deputy speaker of the AP assembly is a name that is hugely popular amongst the AP political circles – Raghu Rama Krishna Raju. He is set to be formally appointed as the deputy speaker this afternoon and prior to that, he has done something very interesting.

Speaking with a media house prior to his appointment last night, the to-be deputy speaker, RRR gave an open invitation to YS Jagan to come to the assembly.

When asked if RRR would be willing to give opposition leader status to Jagan, the former said “The constitution regulation has decided a certain measure of seats to hold the opposition leader status. If the people of AP have decided not to give him(Jagan) the opposition status, we as speakers can’t do much. There is no precedent as such to give him opposition status.”

However, RRR was considerate enough to invite Jagan to the assembly and assured him he would be given adequate time to speak. “Based on the strength of the party, we might give them 30 minutes to speak in the assembly. They can use this to raise their points and fight for their cause. Forgoing this and staying in his house is not the right practice.”

With Ayyannapatrudu as the speaker and RRR as deputy speaker of the AP assembly, the chances of Jagan setting foot in the assembly house are nearly zero, remarked a neutral observer who is closely following these developments.
