The appointment of BR Naidu as the chairman of the TTD board came with its own set of challenges as the earlier board constituted by the then YCP government was accused of having several shortcomings. Now that the new board is in full effect, a set of new reforms have been enforced and they are pretty much the need of the hour.
The first reform is that it is banned to speak politics at Tirumala. No one is allowed to speak on any topic pertaining to active politics at the Tirumala shrine henceforth.
Next comes the order restraining individuals and companies from naming their guesthouses here after themselves. Henceforth, no guesthouse in Tirumala is permitted to have private names and every new name must resonate with Lord Balaji.
Sarva Darshanam pilgrims will now be given ample priority in the Darshan complex and a new mechanism is introduced to ensure these pilgrims can get darshan in 2-3 hours which is multi-fold lesser when compared to earlier timelines.
The controversial Vizag Sharadha Peetham building that was allocated to them earlier stands canceled and this will be reoccupied by the TTD.
Most importantly, the TTD has brought in a new rule, mandating all TTD employees to be Hindus. No other religious workers will be allowed to work at TTD effective immediately.
