Raghu Rama Krishna Raju is perhaps the most exciting MLA in the NDA alliance. He is no short of starry statements and his trademark satirical talk on Jagan Mohan Reddy which have made him a source of excitement and entertainment for the Kutami followers. Now that he is promoted as the deputy speaker, he has amped up the game further.
In the absence of speaker Ayyannapatrudu, we are having RRR in the speaker chair and he is absolutely nailing the job. While he is having quirky conversations with MLAs on certain topics, he is also maintaining the dignity of the house.
In the recent questionnaire session, he guided the MLAs and made them stick to the point. He didn’t leave space for preachy statements just for the sake of it and asked all MLAs to raise questions to seek funds for their constituencies.
This was followed by an earnest message to the MLAs about the law and order situation. He pointed out that each MLA must sit down with local police authorities to work out decentralized policing plans instead of depending on the Home Minister and central police wing. This is a much-needed suggestion.
And then there is the trademark Raju timing that he exhibits when MLAs have a witty statement or two to make about the absence of Jagan Mohan Reddy. He is lighting up the mood at the right intervals to uphold the interest of the viewers which is a unique practice.
All in all, RRR is doing a well-rounded job as the deputy speaker as he appears to be enjoying his new upgraded position in the house. He must now be hoping to have Jagan in the house one day or another and this would earmark the climax of AP assembly sessions.
