The Budget session is completed today in the AP Assembly, discussing several issues relating to the generation and expenditure of the revenue for the last 10 days.
The YCP MLAs belonging to the Opposition YCP, though elected by the people as their representatives, have abstained from attending the session, following the directions of their party boss and former CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, probably.
It was only during the election of the PAC chairman that the name of senior YCP MLA and former minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy was heard in the political circles. Else, there was no mention of the YCP MLAs.
Though they refrained from being present in the Assembly, the YCP MLAs could have reacted to the decisions taken by speaking before the media, felt a political analyst.
The party could have adopted a resolution not to attend the Assembly sessions but they can appear before the media and voice their opinions on the decisions taken in the House. The MLAs cannot be restricted from speaking to the media, he added.
However, the YCP legislators abstained even from this act and remained completely silent, making it appear as though they are enjoying holidays even while the session is underway.
This is gross negligence of their duties, says TDP. Being voted by the people, they have the responsibility to address the grievances of the public in their constituencies but they are neglecting it completely.
The YCP is being represented by Jagan Mohan Reddy solely. Jagan is only addressing the media from the convenience of his house. He is trying to play the role of the Opposition leader by criticizing the government but it apparently, is sounding as a confrontation, said a political observer.
The public has doubts about what are the YCP MLAs doing by staying silent. The electorate is completely unaware of the 10 YCP MLAs in the recent times.
IT is time the YCP MLAs think of the public who elected them and take steps for redressal of their grievances.
