The downward spiral of the YSR Congress is turning out to be a steeper fall than the Titanic. After five years of absolute power, the Jagan-led party is now facing serious challenges, struggling to remain relevant after being reduced to just 11 seats in the assembly.
Coming to the topic, the party has lost another MLC—Jayamangala Venkataramana, who has resigned from the party. He submitted his resignation letter to the MLC chairman, announcing his departure from YCP.
In the aftermath of his exit, Venkataramana shared a stirring account about Jagan, shedding light on the mismanagement within the party during its time in power. He revealed that securing an appointment with Jagan was nearly impossible. “There was one occasion when I sought Jagan’s appointment, only to be bluntly turned down. Jagan then asked me to go and speak to Sajjala,” said the MLC.
The extreme alienation of leaders and cadre members from Jagan Mohan Reddy created a significant void within the party, which likely contributed to its shocking downfall. The fact that even his own party MLCs couldn’t secure an appointment with him speaks volumes about the disorganization and dysfunction of the party during Jagan’s tenure as CM.
