A new page has been turned in the gigantic book pertaining to the Gandhi family as Priyanka Gandhi became the newest member of the Gandhi family to turn active in electoral politics.
Following her smashing win from the Wayanad parliamentary constituency in the recent by-polls, she arrived at the parliament today to take oath as an MP.
This was a special moment for the Gandhi household and they certainly made sure Priyank cherishes every bit of it. Priyanka was accompanied by her brother Rahul Gandhi and mother Sonia Gandhi to the parliament and she was welcomed to the lobby by the Congress MPs.
Interestingly, Priyanka wore a Kerala Kasavu saree to the parliament on the special occasion of taking the oath, thus paying respect to the state that gave her a thumping electoral debut.
This marks the official debut of 52-year-old Priyanka in politics after having won Wayanad by a smashing 4.10 lakh votes. It has to be seen if Priyanka, along with Rahul can give the Modi-led NDA a run for their money in the next elections.
