Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan has created a political stir with his recent visit to the Kakinada Port. The phrase he uttered after locating the ship carrying ration rice – “Seize the ship” – trended on Twitter India shortly after.
If we delve deeper into the issue, it’s clear that Pawan has been monitoring this problem for years. During his pre-poll visit to Kakinada last year, Pawan publicly declared that he would put an end to the criminal empire allegedly built by YCP MLA Dwarampudi Chandrasekhar Reddy in Kakinada. It was suspected that Dwarampudi was behind the illegal smuggling operation.
Fast forward to now, Pawan, who holds a position of power, has begun taking action on this matter.
In response to Pawan’s statement, Dwarampudi Chandrasekhar Reddy, the alleged mastermind of the operation, has finally spoken up, denying all accusations.
“Pawan Kalyan is now the Deputy CM and holds significant power. He must use the Intelligence Department to identify and apprehend the smugglers. I won’t remain silent if he and his associates continue to make baseless allegations against me. Let him initiate an investigation and find the real culprits instead of making vague claims,” Dwarampudi replied.
It seems that the Kakinada Port smuggling issue is now escalating seriously, with key figures in the government, including Pawan himself, getting involved. The Deputy CM has already stated that he will not rest until the issue is resolved and the culprits are brought to justice. This could spell trouble for former MLA Dwarampudi and ex-Civil Supplies Minister Kodali Nani.
