Official: Jagan Files Defamation Cases On ABN, Eenadu

Jagan

The President of YSR Congress and ex-CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is hugely agitated by the recent development pertaining to the bribery allegations made against the Adani group by the US Department of Justice.

After the US department noted that a top politician in number one position in Andhra Pradesh is involved in the case, there were widespread reports that it was Jagan Reddy, who is involved with these charges.

As part of the reciprocal action, Jaganmohan Reddy started to criticise ABN Andhra Jyothi and Eenadu for publicizing the news. To make it more serious now, Jagan has officially lodged a defamation case against both the mentioned media outlets at the Delhi High Court.

Jagan took it to the Delhi court to file defamation, cases amounting to ₹100 crore each against ABN and Eenadu. The cases were filed on December 9 and the court summons could be reaching the respondents- concerned media houses very soon.

Jagan went a step ahead and filed the defamation case against national media outlet, TV Today(Aaj Tak) and Google(News) as well. Interestingly, Jagan Reddy submitted a handwritten letter to Delhi High Court on this matter.

He claimed that these media houses wrote fabricated reports and stories against him without concrete evidence. He noted that his name is not mentioned in the official report, but these media houses had spun a story surrounding him.

He requested the court to order these media outlets to publicly apologise to him and remove concerned publication reports from their portals.

After the first hearing yesterday, the case was then scheduled for the second hearing on December 16.
