Jamili Elections Only In 2029, Not In 2027: Naidu

The Central Cabinet has already given the green signal for Jamili elections, and the Jamili Election Bill is expected to be introduced in Parliament on Monday. It is almost certain that the bill will be approved.

Amidst this, there is widespread speculation that joint elections will be held in 2027. In response to this, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu made significant remarks, stating that even if the Joint Election Bill is approved, the elections will take place only in 2029, not 2027.

He mentioned that his party has already expressed support for the “One Nation, One Election” initiative. However, he criticized the YSRCP leaders for claiming that joint elections will be held in 2027, accusing them of lacking an understanding of the issue.

He also said that YSRCP leaders were making such claims to serve their own interests. He pointed out that the public has lost trust in the YSRCP leaders’ statements and that their antics have become a source of amusement for the people.

Chandrababu emphasized that the government in Andhra Pradesh is stable and called for a strong campaign to promote the “Swarna Andhra Vision 2047” document among the public. He urged that discussions on the vision should take place in universities and schools.

He said that the current generation should understand how Vision 2020 was implemented and how the situation changed between 1996 and 2020. He expressed confidence that Vision 2047, similar to Vision 2020, would also be a success.

Chandrababu described the Swarna Andhra Vision 2047 document as an effort for the betterment of future generations and called for everyone to be a part of it.

He announced that in the upcoming Collector’s Conference, reviews would be conducted in the form of questions and answers, without lengthy deliberations. Going forward, he stated, the meeting agendas would be shared in advance with collectors and SPs, and they would be asked to provide responses to the issues raised.
