The Pulivendula constituency in Kadapa segment is a hard Fortress to the YS family. YS Rajasekhar Reddy moulded this constituency into a bastion for his family, and this domination continued briefly with Vijayamma, and then with Jaganmohan Reddy. TDP was virtually a mute force here in this segment for many decades.
However, cut to now in an interesting turn of events, the Telugu Desam flag is flying high in Pulivendula.
The recently held Water Society elections in Pulivendula were entirely swept by Telugu Desam party under the leadership of MLA candidate, B Tech Ravi. Despite the best efforts of local, MP YS Avinash Reddy. YCP could not with stand the outright dominance asserted by Telugu Desam party.
This might be a small win in the larger scheme of things, but the fundamental point here is that this is the first time the YS family has been qualified in any sort of election in Pulivendula.
It has now reached a point where B.Tech Ravi has challenged Jaganmohan Reddy and Avinash Reddy to at least try and win even a single local body election in Pulivendula in the next 4 and a half years of NDA regime. He sounded extremely confident about overruling the YS family’s dominance in this segment for the coming years under NDA tenure.
Conventionally speaking, Ravi is coming across as a better candidate than Satish Reddy, who was TDP‘s earlier choice for the MLA elections in Pulivendula. He is daring to open the mouth against Jagan Mohan Reddy locally, and this in itself is half a win for the local TDP cares.
What must also be noted that this years election result in Pulivendula is one of the worst performances of Jaganmohan Reddy. He went from an earth shattering 90,000+ majority in 2019 to mere 60,000 majority this year.
The local TDP caterers must be super pleased with their growing presence in the Pulivendula constituency, which was outrightly with the YS family over the last few decades. Though winning the assembly election, here is nearly impossible for the time being the growing prospect itself is very encouraging.
