Just a few days ago, it was reported that a family residing in Hyderabad sold their house plot and accumulated ₹1 crore, which they donated towards the Amaravati project. Moved by this generous move, CM Chandrababu Naidu met with the family and appreciated them.
Cut to now, Amaravati is witnessing another inspiring story in the form of a 92 year old woman who has made a significant contribution to the capital project.
The said elderly lady is named Venkatratnam Bandla, 92, and she is a native of Thullur. Even at this ripe age, she is extremely spirited about the Amaravati capital project and she has now played her financial part in the same.
Venkatratnam donated Rs 1 lakh from her life savings to the Amaravati project as she handed over the cheque to CM Chandrababu yesterday. The chief minister was reportedly surprised in a pleasant manner after seeing the elder lady’s spirited contribution for the Amaravati project.
After the cheque handover formalities, CM Babu briefly spoke with the lady and her family members and appreciated them for the thoughtful act.
This could well be an indication that the capital project is owned by the entire AP population and they wish to be a part of the same.
In view of such spirited contributions like the two, we mentioned now, there is a growing commotion that CM Chandrababu could perhaps consider the idea of constructing a signature Tower in Amravati using the funds that were donated by the common public in the last six months and also during the 2014-19 period. This could be a show of solidarity. For now, this is only a vague proposal on social media.
