Ever since Somu Veerraju took over AP BJP responsibilities, he is working towards strengthening the saffron party in the state. But first he handled the leaders who have soft corner towards TDP and here Veerraju was successful enough. Now Veerraju is focusing to build a strong cadre and this he can do by inducting leaders.
For this Veerraju has started his work from Uttarandhra. Instead of the ruling party, Veerraju led BJP is looking at leaders of TDP. Sitting MLAs, upset leaders and lower level cadre are the prime targets of BJP and accordingly they are being lured by some promises and assurances.
And we hear that Vizag North constituency MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao is said to be among BJP’s target. Adding fuel to the fire, Veerraju’s recent comments hint that he had held talks with Ganta and very soon things might fall in place. “Very soon Bells are going to make sound,” is what Veerraju said while interacting with party workers in a close-door meeting.
This is a total surprise as until September, there was a strong buzz in AP political circles that it is just a matter of time that Ganta would join the ruling YCP. But due to unknown reasons, Ganta’s entry into YCP kept delaying and BJP perfectly cashed his opportunity and filled the void.
At the same time, BJP is in thoughts to give high importance to Ganta, if he joins the party and by doing so, the saffron party wants to establish itself in Vizag and then rest of the north Andhra districts.
It’s clear that Veerraju is showing his impression on AP BJP and we should see how far he would be successful.
