Pic Talk: Jagan Mark Mass, But…

Published by

After having faced a humiliating defeat in the recent assembly elections, YSR Congress president YS Jagan is slowly starting to resurface amongst the public. He is currently on a lengthy tour of the Kadapa district.

Today, Jagan arrived at his camp office in Pulivendula, and he was greeted by big crowds. His followers turned up in big numbers to show their support for their local mass leader.

However, the point to be noted here is that Jagan was always a mass leader who could draw big crowds. But the issue came when he was given the chief minister chair by the public.

Jagan who was always with the public between 2014 to 19 quickly became deserted leader as he kept himself completely away from the public. Whenever he stepped out at the capacity of the chief minister, during his tenure, there were huge Paradhas that distanced himself from the public.

Even during the political meetings before the polls, he walked the ramp and addressed the public at distance and that’s about it. He did not put an effort to stay with the public that made him what he is today in the first place.

Now Jagan is back with the same public again, and for him, he is starting to see a good reception. But the challenge for Jagan now will be that he must gain the trust of the public all over again by implying he will be with them through thick and thin, and won’t ignore them like the way he did in 2019-24 after becoming CM.

Needless to say, the 11-seat result could potentially bring many reforms to Jagan’s methodology. He is in a position where he must win the trust of the public right from scratch.
