There is no debating the fact that Andhra Pradesh politics command the highest amount of attention amongst all Indian states. Despite being a comparatively compact state with 175 assembly seats, Andhra Pradesh is always on top of the charts when it comes to aggressive political warfare and intense election campaigns.
Coming to the topic now, there is one stand-up comedian who got to learn about the might of Andhra Pradesh politics in a hard banner. He is a budding comic named Sarat Uday.
Sarat Uday is a YouTuber and stand-up comic. He shot to fame only this month after a set of video clips of him trolling the leading parties in AP – TDP, JSP, and YCP went viral.
In these videos, he trolled Lokesh, Pawan Kalyan, and Gudivada Amarnath. In this standup comedy episode, he said “Lokesh is a Stanford graduate but is regarded as a comedy optic in AP politics. Pawan Kalyan says he read 1 lakh books while his qualification is intermediate which requires him to read 5 books. The first thing that comes to my mind after hearing Gudivada Amarnath is the term Kodiguddu.”
The thing about this video clips is that they were carried by different parties in Andhra Pradesh. YCP social media wing carried the clips where the comic spoke against Lokesh and Pawan, while NDA supporters shared the clips where he spoke against YCP.
In the end, this comic ended up catching the ire of both sets of political supporters. It has now reached a point where both sets of followers are threatening to file defamation cases against him in various parts of Andhra Pradesh.
The comic is now appealing everyone to forgive him for what happened and said he meant no harm to any party. He says his career in danger now if these cases explode further. He fears the legal consequences of the same as well. He says he will no longer do standup comedy on political matters and confirms that he is done with it.
Now it has to be seen if the anguished set of followers and activists will be pacified with this apology and submissive note from the comic. He appears to have learned his lesson and perhaps needs to be let off the hook. But hey, there’s no easy way out when you mess with AP politics which is a double edged sword.
