In Andhra Pradesh, although the TDP and BJP are in an alliance, there are some local-level tensions in certain constituencies that are creating problems for the coalition.
One of the key figures involved is JC Prabhakar Reddy, the former TDP MLA from Tadipatri in Anantapur district. Recently, JC made critical comments about BJP leaders, particularly female BJP leaders, which led to a heated exchange.
The situation escalated, with BJP senior leader and Minister Satya Kumar Yadav also responding. Realizing the seriousness of the issue, JC Prabhakar Reddy took a step back and offered an apology. For the first time, he publicly expressed regret and apologized to BJP leader and actress Madhavilatha. He admitted, “I spoke in haste and said things in anger. This was wrong. I am sorry.”
Following this, the controversy seemed to have cooled down, with observers noting that the matter appeared to be resolved.
Speaking to the media on Sunday, JC clarified, “I made a slip of the tongue regarding Madhavilatha, and I sincerely apologize.” He says that his sole focus was the development of the Tadipatri constituency. “The people of Tadipatri are my army,” he said, explaining that he was fighting for the welfare of his constituency. He also made it clear that he had no personal vendetta against anyone.
Regarding rumors of him switching parties, JC firmly responded that he would not be leaving the TDP under any circumstances. He praised Chandrababu Naidu for his struggles and eventual success, stating, “Chandrababu faced many hardships and achieved victory, and I will continue to stand behind him.” He further stated that while Naidu was working for the state, he himself was focused on the development of Tadipatri. He subtly indicated that no other leaders were involved in his decisions or actions.
