Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced that his government plans to develop a ‘Future City’ in Telangana. With an aim to create an eco-system with the highest ease of doing business, Revanth Reddy aims to transform Hyderabad into a pollution-free and net-zero city.
Speaking at the CII National Council meeting, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced his plans: “We have decided to build the fourth city, which is called the future city, in Hyderabad. The future city of Hyderabad will compete with New York, London, Tokyo, and Dubai. We want to build the greatest city in India. It will aim for total carbon zero. We are replacing all our 3,200 RTC buses with EV vehicles,” Revanth Reddy said.
The government will also focus on enhancing agriculture, organic farming, cold storage, and warehouse infrastructure in rural Telangana. Revanth Reddy wants to promote clean energy in the state. Since Telangana has recorded the fastest EV sales in the state, they want to encourage more people to slant towards EV vehicles.
Revanth also plans to make Hyderabad a flood-free city in the future. A special road and railway connection to the Bandar Port in Andhra Pradesh is underway. A road and rail line to the Machilipatnam Port will soon be constructed.
