The former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh and YSR Congress president YS Jagan was supposed to fly to London last year after the election. However, he had to cancel the trip at the last-minute due to passport extension issues.
The latest news is that Jagan and his wife Bharathi have flown to London now. They are scheduled to partake in the graduation ceremony of their doting second daughter Varsha Reddy while on this London trip.
Varsha Reddy is graduating from the famous King’s College in London in Finance Management stream. Jagan and Bharathi will be partaking in the graduation ceremony which is reportedly happening on January 16.
This must be an unwinding trip for Jagan at multiple levels as this is his first foreign trip after the shambolic 2024 elections. He is likely to return to Andhra Pradesh only by the end of this month.
Incidentally, Jagan was supposed to kickstart the mass outreach program and meet his party’s local cadres in the state through a state-wide tour. In view of his London trip, it has to be seen if this program would get briefly delayed.
