Thanks To NDA Gov, NIDM In AP: What Does It Mean?

The NDA government in Andhra Pradesh is taking a very proactive stand when it comes to bringing several funded projects to the state. In one such significant development, the AP government has managed to secure the National Institute of Disaster Management project to the state.

The grand inauguration ceremony of the NIDM project was held near Vijayawada today and it had Union Home Minister Amit Shah and local stalwarts Chandrababu and Pawan Kalyan in attendance.

For those who don’t know about this institute, National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) is an education and research institution which is originally located in Connaught Place, New Delhi. NIDM is primarily responsible for the training and capacity development programs for managing natural disasters in India. The South Indian wing of the same is being developed near Vijayawada and the foundation was laid today.

This institute will become a really long way in assessing the gravity of natural disasters, and the reciprocal measures that are to be implemented.

Notably, Andhra Pradesh has been suffering from severe natural disasters in recent years, including the recent devastating floods in Vijayawada. In view of this prevailing situation, this disaster management institution will come along way in enhancing the machinery and ground level troopers, which will be very handy during time of disaster.

Thanks to the fact that both Chandrababu and Pawan Kalyan hold consolidated positions at the center level, they could successfully secure this institution to AP. Once fully functional, AP will have best in class facilities and blueprints to deal with natural disaster situations.
