There is no debating the fact that despite his horrific performance in the recent election, Jagan Mohan Reddy continues to be one of the most integral discourse-setting leaders in Andhra Pradesh. However, in what could be considered a strange coincidence, every time Jagan flies to London, something significant happens in Andhra Pradesh.
The last time Jagan flew to London in 2023, when he was the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, the most shocking event took place: the then-opposition leader, Chandrababu Naidu, was arrested in the skill case.
While Jagan was happily exploring the scenic locales of London, Andhra Pradesh Police and CID executed a pinpoint plan to arrest Babu, jailing him under questionable circumstances.
Then came another London trip in 2024, after the election campaign and before the counting. Again, this was followed by something extremely drastic for YSR Congress, as the party faced a humiliating defeat in the election results announced a week after Jagan returned.
Now, in January 2025, Jagan flew to London a couple of weeks ago. As per the emerging tradition, something significant has happened again with the departure of Vijay Sai Reddy.
The uncanny coincidence here is that every time Jagan flies to London, something big and worthy of setting a new discourse in AP politics seems to happen. While we can rule out the election results as part of this trend, the other two incidents are significant enough. At this rate, one can only wonder what will happen the next time Jagan flies to London.
