Modi To Meet Trump In Feb?

Modi-Trump

Donald Trump was elected president of the United States of America and took charge last week. Since he assumed the president’s office, Trump signed various executive orders. He also said that he would crack down on illegal immigrants in the United States. Meanwhile, it was widely rumoured that Modi was not invited to Trump’s inauguration, igniting speculations about ties between both India and the USA.

As per the latest reports, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the White House in February to meet President Trump. Trump himself revealed the news, as reported by Reuters. He made this statement after having a telephone conversation with Modi, which was the first conversation between both leaders after Trump took charge as president this year.

It was heard that the Indian diplomatic side has been trying to hold an early meeting between the leaders. Trump also stated that he spoke about immigration with Modi and added India will do what is right when it comes to taking back illegal immigrants.

This meeting will be crucial in strengthening the ties between India and the United States in terms of trade, immigration and security, amid various speculations circulating in the media.

Modi last visited the US in September 2024 to attend the fourth Quad Leaders’ Summit, which was hosted by then-US President Joe Biden.
