TDP Mahanadu In YS Jagan’s bastion

Telugu Desam Party national president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu seems to be very keen on sending a strong message to his political rival and YSR Congress party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy because the polit bureau has decided to hold the annual conclave ‘Mahanadu’ in Kadapa district this year for three days starting from May 27th, on the occasion of birth anniversary of NT Rama Rao.

In the 2024 elections, TDP made inroads in Rayalaseema, a region which was once considered an impregnable fortress for YSRCP because of the dominant Reddy community and other factors, with a remarkable comeback by capturing 49 of the 52 seats. In Kadapa constituency, which is the home turf of YS Jagan, the NDA government secured 7 seats and created a history. Even Jagan’s majority was reduced compared to the previous elections.

The target for the next elections would be strength the party further in Rayalaseema region and create more trouble for Jagan Mohan Reddy’s political future. So, Naidu’s master plan to hold the annual party meeting in Kadapa is aimed in that direction. This move will motivate and encourage the cadre in Kadapa and the remaining Rayalaseema areas to work hard for the party’s victory in the next polls and continue its dominance there.

The three day event is likely to see a massive turnout this year because of the stupendous election victory in the 2024 elections. Lakhs of TDP supporters from Telugu states and neighbouring places will attend this event. Huge arrangements will be made by the party involving leaders from all parts of the state. Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh will take part in Mahanadu along with many other prominent leaders of the party.

During this year’s Mahanadu, the national president and heads of several committees would be elected by the party.
