The previous YSR Congress government has been surrounded by numerous allegations of land grabbing and illegal activities. Several YSR Congress leaders faced accusations related to land encroachments during their tenure.
In a highly controversial incident, it has now come to light that certain unidentified individuals attempted to illegally occupy land designated for Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu himself.
Here’s how the incident unfolded: A staunch TDP loyalist from Bapatla had registered 9.5 cents of land in the name of Chandrababu nearly 25 years ago. This land was intended to be donated to the Telugu Desam Party for the construction of a party office in the Bapatla constituency.
Over the years, the value of the property increased significantly and is now worth approximately ₹1.5 crore. When the landowner recently approached a bank to secure a loan using this property — a standard procedure — he was in for a shocking revelation.
The bank officials informed him that fraudulent documents had been created for this land, claiming false ownership. It was later discovered that some antisocial elements were involved in fabricating these documents to illegally grab the land.
Devastated by the incident, the landowner approached the local TDP MLA, who subsequently brought the matter to the police. Authorities arrested a man named Sattar Reddy, who is allegedly connected to the illegal land grab. Investigations are ongoing, with the police extracting more information from him.
This land-grabbing incident is particularly shocking, as it involved the illegal occupation of land originally designated for Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
