Not Chiru but Kamal for Rajya Sabha?

There were reports that Megastar Chiranjeevi would be nominated for Rajya Sabha, given his recent meetings with the BJP leaders. However, Chiru denied the speculations and issued a clarity that he is not willing to take an active step in politics. On the other hand, the speculations are rife that Kamal Haasan will soon be nominated for Rajya Sabha.

If the reports are believed to be true, DMK party which is currently in the ruling in Tamil Nadu plans to nominate Kamal for Rajyasabha. The next round of Rajya Sabha elections is slated to take place in July 2025.

On Wednesday, minister PK Sekar Babu met Kamal Haasan to reportedly discuss the same. Kamal floated his political party Makkal Needhi Maiam and allied with DMK for the Lok Sabha elections last year. According to reports, Chief Minister MK Stalin had assured a Rajya Sabha seat for Haasan as part of a deal in exchange for his support during the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

In June, six Rajya Sabha seats are set to become vacant and Kamal might be backed by DMK.
