The formal IT minister of Telangana KTR caught the ire of Andhra Pradesh folk with his recent comment. He said neighbouring states of Telangana, and “even Andhra Pradesh” are walking away with major investments while Telangana is lagging behind.
Many people felt that KTR looked down upon Andhra Pradesh and belittled the state by referring to it as “even Andhra Pradesh”. This became a substantial issue with AP natives faulting KTR for his poor choice of words.
In this context, KTR resorted to certain damage control measures as he looked to pacify and deescalate the situation.
“After Telangana, if any state should develop in the country, it should be Andhra Pradesh. I expressed concern because Telangana industries are shifting to Andhra Pradesh. We are happy if Andhra Pradesh develops, but Telangana should not fall behind under this Congress government.” KTR stated.
The former IT minister clearly looked to make good with the Andhra Pradesh folk who had been firing on him for the last couple of days for his poor choice of words. But the damage had been done already and there’s a lot of criticism on KTR for speaking ill of the other twin Telugu state. It has to be seen if this latest pacification statement would be of any help in moderating the situation.
