Telangana finance minister Harish Rao said he will take the responsibility of the defeat in Dubbaka by-election. In his first reaction after the BJP emerged victorious in the neck-to-neck contest, Harish said he accepts the defeat.
“I welcome the people’s verdict and I will take the complete responsibility of the defeat. I thank all the people of Dubbaka who have voted for the TRS party and will try to make sure to be available for the people of Dubbaka always. I also want to thank each and every Karyakatha of TRS party who worked very hard for the victory and unfortunately could not get it,” said Harish Rao.
In a way this is a huge setback for Harish Rao whose image is at stake within the TRS party. Under these circumstances, the Dubbaka by-poll were held. He campaigned extensively to each and every corner of the constituency yet he could not make the party cross the line.
Also it was only Harish Rao who campaigned for TRS in Dubbaka. Telangana CM KCR and KTR did not campaign at all. KCR was supposed to hold a public meeting but it was cancelled due to rains. So it was only Harish who took up the job of Dubbaka by-poll.
