It is an established fact that the legendary leader of the separation movement, Potti Sri Ramulu, is one of the most crucial personalities in the history of the Telugu states. He was the primary reason behind the agitation that led to the separation of Andhra Pradesh from the then Madras Presidency.
In line with this, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu, has now announced a thoughtful gesture to honor Potti Sri Ramulu.
In his interaction with the public today, Babu announced that he would commemorate the efforts of Potti Sri Ramulu toward the Telugu states by commissioning a grand statue in Amaravati.
Babu revealed that a 58-foot statue of Potti Sri Ramulu would be erected in Amaravati to symbolize his 58-day fast for the separatist movement that led to the creation of the former united Andhra Pradesh.
Honoring such legendary personalities, who hold immense cultural significance, is always a positive gesture, and it is thoughtful of Chandrababu to plan for Potti Sri Ramulu’s statue to be a part of the global project of Amaravati. More details regarding this will be revealed soon.
