The Dubbaka by election result is indeed a big blow to the ruling TRS party as BJP defeated the Pink Party. Now, TRS leaders are worried that this result could influence the voters in the polls that are going to be held in the next two months.
As the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation polls in Greater Hyderabad region and MLC election in graduate constituencies Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Mahbubnagar, Warangal, Khammam and Nalgona graduate constituencies are all set to be held in the next two months, there are fears across some TRS local leaders. On the other hand, BJP’s confidence has been doubled.
Soon after clinching the Dubbaka seat, BJP’s Telangana state president Bandi Sanjay stated that the party would also bag the Greater Hyderabad. Sanjay stated that Dubbaka result is big set back to CM KCR and Minister KTR. He said the result is a befitting answer to CM KCR who had multiple times stated “where is BJP in Telangana”. Sanjay said BJP is just 1 km away from Gajwel, 3 km away from Sircilla and 1 km away from Siddipet. Sanjay claimed that BJP will soon hoist the Saffron flag on Golkonda hillfort.
Some TRS leaders are hopeful that Dubbak result may not have a great impact whereas BJP is confident that it will have a huge impact. Already, the recent floods in Hyderabad has resulted in a “great anti-incumbency” on state government, said a BJP leader adding that the Dubbaka result will now add to the anti-TRS sentiment.
The election will be held for 150 wards in the GHMC where 45 wards are in the Old City and neighbouring areas. While BJP has only 1 MLA (Goshamahal) out of 24 Assembly Constituencies and 1 MP (Secunderabad) in the Greater Hyderabad, TRS is confident that it has a strong hold and it would pull off 100-plus wards in the GHMC with the help of MIM. On the whole, with Dubbaka result, the elections of GHMC and MLC turned interesting.
