Pawan Slams YCP for Stealing Rs. 250 Cr Meant for Workers

In the Andhra Pradesh Assembly, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan once again displayed his bold stance, strongly criticizing the previous YSR Congress government. He accused the YSRC government of crippling several systems, even going as far as stealing money meant for workers under the MGNREGA scheme.

Pawan Kalyan claimed that YSR Congress leaders had siphoned off Rs. 250 crore meant for the workers, presenting evidence in the assembly. He pointed out that the YSRC had turned the MGNREGA scheme into a political tool, manipulating it to their advantage. He stated that as soon as he took charge as the Panchayat Raj Minister, he initiated special measures to ensure justice for the workers, with the aim of making the scheme more accessible and beneficial to all. However, he revealed that during the YSRC’s tenure, large amounts of money were embezzled from the scheme.

The Deputy CM criticized the decisions made by the YSRC government, stating that the MGNREGA scheme had lost its integrity due to the corruption under their administration. He further elaborated that the individuals responsible for overseeing the scheme had themselves engaged in corruption, resulting in a loss of Rs. 250 crore. Pawan Kalyan admitted that after discovering the corruption, he was at a loss for words. However, he pointed out that the evidence had been carefully covered up, making it difficult to trace the full extent of the embezzlement.

He also highlighted that while the central government had authorized wage increases under the scheme, the YSRC leaders misappropriated those funds as well. Pawan Kalyan claimed that workers were listed as having worked for more days than they actually did, resulting in the diversion of funds meant for the laborers. He concluded by stressing that he had been closely monitoring this issue and would continue to expose the corruption.
